Ayu promises to return PDP to the people as he takes over chairmanship

The new Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Iyiochia Ayu, has promised to return the party to the people as he takes over power as the National Chairman of the party.

Ayu made the promise in his acceptance speech after he was sworn in Abuja, on Friday.

He said, “Our task at this auspicious moment is to return the party to the people. But to do that, the party needs to be reinvigorated, reinvented and repositioned. We are not unmindful of our missed steps and actions in the past, but we have learnt our lessons, both in government and in opposition.
Today, we stand tall, and with a firm resolve to rebuild our great party and rescue our nation. “

The new PDP national chairman also promised to implement policies and programmes that would return the party back to power come 2023.
