Ekiti: RCCG pastor’s building sets ablaze by angry youths over 7-year-old girl’s death

A building belonging to a pastor attached to the Redeemed Christian Church Church of God, RCCG, in Adebun Area of Ado-Ekiti has been razed by aggrieved youths over a missing seven-year-old girl found dead in his house.

 

 

It was learnt that the lifeless body of the girl, identified as Demilade, was allegedly found in the pastor’s house after she was declared missing on Monday.

 

 

According to reports, Demilade was sent on an errand by her parents before she was allegedly waylaid and butchered by the daughter of the pastor who was believed to be mentally deranged.

 

 

The parents of the seven-year-old girl were said to have raised an alarm when she could not return from the errand.

 

 

The alarm triggered residents to embark on search until the lifeless body was allegedly found in the pastor’s house.

 

 

The Ekiti State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Sunday Abutu, confirmed the incident to journalist on Tuesday, stating that a suspect had been arrested in connection to the murder.

 

 

He said, “The dead body of the girl had been recovered and deposited at the morgue.

 

 

“The CP had directed that the matter be investigated thoroughly.

 

 

“We are studying and extracting information from the suspect in our custody and we shall inform the members of the public about our findings when we are through”.
