BREAKING: Two Policemen killed, Another Missing As Gunmen attack Nigerian Lawmaker

At least two policemen are feared dead, another missing and four others injured during an attack in Effium Community, in Ohaukwu Local government area of Ebonyi State.

They were attacked alongside Ebonyi lawmaker, Hon. Chinedu Awo, representing Ohaukwu North constituency in the Ebonyi State House of Assembly.

The four wounded policemen were rushed to the Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki where they are receiving treatment.

A close source confirmed that two of the policemen have successfully undergone surgery at the hospital while the O.C Anti robbery squad who was shot on the leg had asked to be discharged.

They were reportedly attacked at Effium where they went in search of kidapped Consultant handling the Ebonyi ring road project who was abducted alongside four others with him.

Source said the lawmaker led the team to confirm report that the kidnapped victims may have been killed and buried.

They were said to be on their way when the hoodlums opened fire on them.

Efforts made to reach the Ebonyi State police Public Relations officer (PPRP), DSP Liveth Odah, were unsuccessful as at the time of filling this report.
