Breaking: Three Killed As Armed Robbers Raid Bank In Ekiti

Armed robbers on Monday raided a commercial bank in Aramoko Ekiti, the headquarters of the Ekiti West Local government area of Ekiti State, killing at least three people and injuring others.

VAM News gathered that the armed robbers who announced their arrival at the Wema bank, at about 5 pm with gun shots which frightened residents who scampered for safety arrived.

During the operation, a police officer, a road safety officer and a civilian were killed.

“The robbers forced their way into the banking hall with dynamite and carted away a huge amount of money in ‘Ghana must go bag,’” said a witness who requested not to be named.

The residents were said to have run in different directions due to the severity of the gunshots, which the source said had sent jitters around the spines of the people.

Vehicles travelling across Ado-Iyin-Aramoko-Efon road had to take a detour to prevent being caught in the web of gunshots.
