Famous Nigerian music producer, Victor Chujor-Idowu known as Big Daddy Jayy has died of complications from COVID-19.
The 28-year-old music star succumbed to the virus on Saturday, according to a statement released by his family.
The statement reads, “It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of multitalented producer/singer and songwriter Victor Chujor-Idowu aka Beats by Jayy.
“He passed away at the age of 28 following complications from Covid 19.
“He is survived by his mother and siblings.
“We would appreciate that you grant us the utmost privacy as we grieve this tragic loss.”
Popularly referred to as the “leader of the new school hip hop in Nigeria”, Big Daddy Jayy was known for producing for MI Abaga, Blaqbonez, Cheque and many other hip hop artistes.
