The National Association of Nigerian Students NANS, has concluded arrangements to usher in a national security summit to secure schools and students across the country.
A statement made available to VAM News by the NANS President, Comrade Sunday Asefon, disclosed that the summit will come in November 4th, 2021 at Abuja, the nation’s federal capital territory.
”Summit, which is part of our resolve to engage with stakeholders, is premised on the alarming spate of insecurities, being witnessed across the country, particularly as it affects the educational sector and youth development in the country.
” We are deeply worried about the assault on schools, kidnapping and all forms of insurgency, ravaging our country, therefore the need for this engagement, aimed at collectively working with government, towards addressing the menace, through the positive engagement of Nigerian youth.”
”The security summit which will hold at the Merit House Abuja, on November 4, would bring together critical stakeholders in the educational sector, Governments, security agencies, media and the civil society.
” A decisive part of the summit, would be to ensure that decisions and new innovations towards supporting government effort at ending Insecurity are taken at in the summit,” the statement reads.
