Osun Residents, Motorists Lament Poor State of Road In Osogbo

The sourjouners and motorists has raise alarm over the bad condition of road along National Open University, Osogbo, the Osun state capital.

 

Residents have called upon the government both the state and federal to help them fix the bad road.

 

The about 1.2km road to the National open university has been reportedly claims to be a strong contribution to the increase in accident and damage of vehicles in the community.

 

According to one of the community sojourners,  Jamiu Odunola who spoke with Insight Media, said the road has contributed to series of fatal incidence over the past years. He included that the road has been in bad condition since he graduated from secondary school.The concluding part of his words is directed to the government as he urges them to take action in fixing the road.

 

Other comments of people working and living in the environment includes;

 

“We thereby urge the government to help us fix the bad road because it’s a challenge for all motorists in which I am one and the passagers passing through the road to their various destination.The road condition has contributed to the damage of our vehicles and as well tampered with our health as we’re down in pains after moving on the road. There is no benefit we are expecting from the government than helping us fix the road and that is the responsibility that relates government with citizens.”_Kehinde Olaniyan says

 

“The road has divided into two (2), the alternative road is narrow and always crowdy with cars. Most of the transporters that are inpatient may fall victim at the certain point. We therefore urge the government to find means and fix the road.”_Ismahil says

 

“The road is very bad from Oja-Oba to Ilesha’s garage. It is glared that the government are trying but we’re seeking for their mercy over this bad road. We will even appreciate clearing of the road or provision of granite. I am a motorist and I have no other occupation to answer for vehical repairment expenses resulted from the damage of the road as other colleagues walks home after work.

 

There is a federal sign post at the road side. It’s assumed the road has been awarded by federal government but nothing comes out of it.
