The remote cause of the accident according to the Spokesperson of the Osun Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Agnes Ogungbemi, was dangerous driving and speed violation on the part of the driver of the bus.

No passenger was killed and all the 10 injured passengers; two adult males, five adult females and three male children were safely taken to a private hospital in Ipetumodu town for treatment.
