2022 World Cup Qualifiers: Cape Verde log 26-man Squad vs Nigeria

Cape Verde 26-man Squad vs Nigeria
In preparation for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches scheduled to kick-off in September, head Coach of the Cape Verde national team Pedro ‘Bubista’ Brito has named a 26-man squad for the doubleheader against Nigeria and Central African Republic.

The Blue Tubarões who have had three outings at the AFCON but are yet to qualify for the World Cup will host Nigeria’s Super Eagles on September 7 – six days after their clash against Central African Republic in Cameroon.

Bubista has named players from the foreign-based leagues namely Belgium, France, Portugal et al.

Meanwhile, it remains to be seen how the Super Eagles squad will shape up given that English Premier League clubs issued a joint press release not to release players for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers to countries in UK’s Covid-19 red list.

The Cape Verde versus Nigeria tie will be hosted by the 5000 capacity Aderito Sena Stadium, in Mindelo.
