6 Bandits Who Murdered Police IRT Officers In Plateau killed

The Nigerian military has confirmed the elimination of 6 bandits that specialized in kidnapping people in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) and Police units neutralised the syndicate.

The forces found weapons belonging to the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) the assailants killed – 3 AK-47 rifles.

Major Ishaku Gaji Takwa, Military Information Officer, in a statement said the operation involved the Divisional Police Headquarters at Mangu.

The late IRT officers earlier made a distress call that bandits attacked them and took away their guns.

“The criminals were immediately trailed and neutralised after a gun duel with the troops”, Takwa said.

The remains of the IRT members and the eliminated gang members were recovered.

Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN, Major General Ibrahim Ali charged the troops to continue the collaborative efforts and sustain the assaults against criminals in Plateau State.
