A police sergeant serving with the Taraba State Police Command has reportedly been killed by suspected kidnappers in Jalingo the state capital.
A Customs officer was also confirmed to have been kidnapped by the suspected kidnappers.
The two incidents occurred in the Sabongeri area of the Jalingo metropolis.
Confirming the reports, the Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Abdullahi Usman, said the sad incidents occurred at about 2am on Thursday morning.
The latest incident occurred barely one month after the traditional ruler of the Muri emirate, Abbas Tafida Njidda, gave herders thirty days ultimatum to vacate the state or desist from making life difficult for people in the state.
According to reports, the deceased sergeant was hacked to death
in Sabongeri where the mobile police station is located.
Meanwhile, family members of the Customs officer who confIrmed his abduction to DAILY POST urged the state government to collaborate with the police and other security personnel to facilitate the release of their breadwinner winner unhurt.
