Uniosun: PTA Meeting In Higher Institution, An Odd That’s Againsts The Norms

 

 

 

It has reached the VAM news awareness that management of Osun state university in Osogbo organized a Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) meeting.

 

 

According to a circular issued by the Institution, the meeting was organized to discuss the welfare of the children and wards in the school with their parents.

 

 

But a question that arose in me is that, is Uniosun a higher institution of learning or we should just be calling it advanced secondary school.

 

 

Peradventure, the institution has turned to a kindergarten or creche that looks after wards and kids for their parents.

 

 

PTA meeting is meant for schools that are harbouring kids, wards that need adult supports.

 

 

But crying out loud, a university student is expected to be someone that is matured enough to choose from rights and wrongs.

 

The institution should stop making some moves or taking decisions that will present the students of the school as bunch of immature people.

 

 

Also, such a thing like that is not psychologically okay. Telling grown students to bring their parents to school for meeting, it’s like casting inferiority feelings in their minds and inhibiting low self esteem in them.

 

 

It is pitiful for Uniosun to stoop so low to that extent. Even though, if there is a need to address student affairs.

 

 

There is a way to do it independently without parents interference.

 

 

It is high time for Uniosun to left her immature approach to student affairs and operate logically as higher institution is expected to.

 

 

The Uniosun’s action is highly reprochable and shameful not only to the institution but Osun state entirely. Such a thing like that can give people the impression that Osun is an obsolete state which is not.

 

 

Osun is a great state, having a great with people that are blessed with great Intellectuality and diplomacy.

 

 

The institution needs to be cautioned against such an immature and belittling decision in attending to students welfare in another time, a silly procedure like that mustn’t repeat itself again.
