Sunday Igboho: Obasanjo Visits Benin Republic, Meets President Talon

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo traveled to the Republic of Benin over the arrest and trial of Chief Sunday Igboho. The Cable exclusively reported.

According to the cable, Obasanjo traveled to Tanzania on August 1, 2021, and rerouted to the Benin Republic.

The former president visited Benin to condole with Nicephore Soglo, who recently lost his wife, Roseline Soglo. Soglo is also a former President of the Francophone country and he has maintained a good relationship with Obasanjo over the years.

Obasanjo also met with President Patrice Talon. The purpose of the meeting was to seek soft-landing for Sunday Igboho.
