President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Professor Ibrahim Dantani Wushishi as the Registrar/Chief Executive of the National Examinations Council (NECO).
Wushishi replaces Professor Godswill Obioma who died late May in questionable circumstances less than one year in office.
His appointment was contained in a memo dated 16th July 2021 with reference No: FME/PSE/NECO/1078/C.1/36.
The letter signed by the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu said Wushishi’s term is for an initial five years and took effect from 12th July, 2021.
The Professor of Science Education was born on 5th April, 1965 and hailed from Wushishi Local Government Area of Niger State.
He was a lecturer in the Faculty of Education, Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto, before joining the Federal University of Technology (FUT) Minna.
Wushishi has held other positions including Post Graduate Coordinator, Department of Science Education, FUT, Minna; Sub-Dean School of Science and Science Education, FUT, Minna.
Others were Head of Department, Science Education, FUT Minna; Head of Department, Science Education, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai.
Until the new appointment, Wushishi was a Professor of Chemistry at the FUT, Minna.
The scholar has many publications to his credit and is married and blessed with children.
