Eedris Abdulkareem: Nigerians unhappy with President Buhari… negotiation is only way forward

Eedris Abdulkareem says the “negotiation” is the “only way forward” for the country in the face of secessionist calls.

In a chat with GoldmyneTV, Abdulkareem commented on the federal government’s crackdown on secessionists.

The rapper said the government was unjust to Nnamdi Kanu, the recently arrested leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), and Sunday Igboho, a youth leader whose house the Department of State Services (DSS) raided.

“DSS, why did you go to Sunday Igboho’s house? Only thieves attack people at midnight. He was not invited, yet you raided his house, killed people. You destroyed his home because he asked for secession,” Abdulkareem said.

“Power won’t last forever. You will all leave those seats and get back on the streets like everyone else. Then you will know what’s going on.”

Abdulkareem charged political leaders in Nigeria to reach out to the president and negotiate “before it’s late”.

“Buhari is not the first Fulani man to rule Nigeria. Yar’Adua did and ruled with love; served the country without bias,” he said.

“Nigeria is a beautiful girl but a few decided to capture her. Nigeria was ripped of its resources, talents, beauty.

“I wish FG can ban all social media. That way, all Nigerians will suffer and everyone will come out and fight for their rights. That was how we lived in our years, in the 1990s, 80s. The real fight that Sowore and Abiola fought.

“I call every Yoruba, Hausa-Fulani, Igbo, and Niger-Delta leader to forget personal interests and sentiments. Reach out to this president before it’s late so we negotiate. Negotiation is the only way. People are not happy with Buhari.

“Your president is supposed to act as a father to all. But Buhari is playing a father to the northerners. It can’t work.”

Speaking further on the Kanu-Igboho crackdown, Abdulkareem asked Buhari to focus instead on ending insecurity.

“There is nothing bad is demanding a referendum, Oduduwa Nation, or Biafra. It is no crime. The real criminals are in the north; those who kidnap children. Nigerian Defence Academy is in Kaduna, so are the kidnappers,” he added.
