Recently, there was an information that is circulating within Ikirun Town in Osun state and it environs that the Gboleru’s family has ultimately endorsed and produce a candidate that will be enthroned as the new Akirun of Ikirunland.
But In our fact findings, we find out that the so called statement is false, untrue and full of fabricated lies.
The fake and conjectural statement reads:
“The Gboleru Ruling House of Ikirun, Osun State has presented Prince Tajudeen Adesegun Adejumo Gboleru to fill the vacant stool of the Akirun of Ikirun.
Addressing a press conference on behalf of Gboleru Ruling House of Ikirun, Prince Adegboyega Olatunji urged the state government to commence the process of his appointment and install Prince Tajudeen Adesegun as the new king of the town.”
As a news platform within the state, we are very concerned about bringing the right information to the people without filtering out the truth.
This newspaper makes some research to know the candidate that is ultimately endorsed by the Gboleru ruling house in the process of enthroning new Akirun of Ikirunland.
In our findings, we find out that the Gboleru family has not endorsed any candidate, all the Akirun aspirants are still in the race.
Therefore the statement that, “The Gboleru Ruling House of Ikirun, Osun State has presented Prince Tajudeen Adesegun Adejumo Gboleru to fill the vacant stool of the Akinrun of Ikirun is Illegal, the Osun state government should disregard it and the indigenes of Ikirun both home and abroad should ignore the statement.
We were able to gather that many influential people from the Gboleru ruling family that are eminently qualified to attain the position have been showing interest, because it is generally known and legitimately backed that the next Akirun will be emerged from their family.
“According to the Ikirun District Chieftaincy Declaration and Gazette of 1959, approved in 1960, re-registered in 1970, which were done during the reign of Late Oba Lawani Adeyemi, and its subsequent versions, especially the Gazette of 1980 signed by late Chief Bola Ige, the former Governor of old Oyo State, during the reign of late Oba Lawani Adeyemi, there are three ruling houses in Ikirun land.
“They are Obaara, Adedeji and Gboleru Ruling houses.
“Oba Lawani Adeyemi Oyejola, from the Obaara ruling house, ruled between 1945-1989 after which late Oba Olayiwola Adedeji II, came to the throne from 1991-2021.
Gboleru family is now the next ruling family to present a candidate that will be enthroned as the new Akirun of Ikirunland.
But we were made to know that the reason why the Gboleru family has not yet endorsed anybody among the candidates is to make sure that the right person is chosen for the position.
