The residents of Atiba, Salako, and Koju communities in Osogbo, has lamented being in total darkness and now seeking government intervention.
The three communities is situated at the back of Osogbo city stadium, the Osun state capital.
VAM news learnt that the transformer serving the three communities has stopped working since about a month ago, and since then the communities have been in blackout.
Some of the residents of the area bewailed to this Newspaper about the negative impacts, the incident has caused to them and the communities entirely.
“Due to the absence of electricity, our businesses have been witnessing setbacks and also criminals may be using the black out as an advantage to perpetrate criminalities in the area”, Resident said.
Another residents of the communities made it known to VAM News that they have tried all their possible best to contribute money to buy a new transformer, but the money they are able to gather is not sufficient enough to buy a new transformer.
The residents of Atiba, Salako and Koju community are now using this opportunity to call the Osun government to notice about their ordeal.
Also, they are begging the government to help them with the provision of new transformers that will be able to power their communities.
Meanwhile, all efforts to reach the commissioner for works proved abortive as honorable Remi didn’t respond to calls or return call.
