Amb. Yemi Farounbi, a veteran Journalist, politician and a former Nigerian ambassador to Philippine has disclosed the reason why the so called progressives party APC has failed enormously.
He described APC as a progressives party that lacks progressive individuals.
Amb. Yemi Farounbi made this known during a monthly programme of the Osun State Broadcasting Corporation OSBC known as ‘Guest Of The Month’.
The theme of this month programme holds on today, 24th of June 2021 is tagged ‘The Nigeria Nation Road To Recovery’.
In the programme, Farounbi referred to APC as a bin which is occupied by Nigeria’s bad political elements.
Most of our politicians lack ideology, focus, and the dream for a better Nigeria. We Nigerians always blame our leaders for poor performance and misleading us but we know that we are the one inflicting sufferness on ourselves.
In a democratic government, power resides in the hand of the citizens to choose who will lead them with justice and fairness, but here in Nigeria it’s different. We sell our votes in exchange of money, we don’t vote with our conscience, we don’t elect based on competency, we don’t vote for the right people.
And this problem of monetization of politics didn’t exist in Nigeria before, it started during the Babangida regime, it was since then that Nigeria have been battling with corrupt practices and corrupt leaders, he said.
He added that, democrats, journalists and human right activists are to be blame for this current situation we are in Nigeria for advocating to vote in Buhari in 2015 out of their hatred for PDP and Jonathan’s administration.
